hospital stay 5 days, 4 nights, beginning Feb-28, 2019
Mom was with us in Colorado thru this whole ordeal.
Picture shown is lunch in Georgetown a few days prior. AT the time, Mom thought she was on her way home.
as it would turn out, Mom would get back to Denver, but instead of boarding her flight, she would rent a tank and drive into the high country after dark, thru steep grades and incoming snow, to visit the quaint town of Aspen… from the hospital.
Mom spent all those nights at the hospital, and two hotels in the days after.
P.S. this enabled Joel to ski another two days, because, as Amelia pointed out ‘we paid for the trip’

Southwest airlines did an excellent job of shuttling us and our luggage
Mar-11, first visit to orthopedic doctor in Greenville. Doctor’s first order, get rid of that wrapped hospital cast, replace with high-quality ortho-boot
we used a regular rotation of ice packs, inserted into the ortho-boot, to help control pain
